Tips to Enjoy a Good Philz Coffee at Home

  • One tablespoon of sugar and half an inch of cream makes a flavorful one-cup coffee. If you want more flavors to your Philz coffee, use 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a three-quarter-inch cream.
  • Use good-quality glass mugs to pour and drink your coffee. A good-quality glass mug will keep your coffee hot longer.
  • You can adjust the calories in your homemade Philz Coffee. The calorie content in Philz varies based on cup size, blend, specialty drinks, and flavor. You can read more about calorie information here.
  • Philz Coffee tastes better when brewed within two weeks of its roasted date and ground 15 minutes or less before brewing.
  • Always use clean, fresh, odorless filtered water to make coffee. You must never use distilled water to make coffee. Coffee is 98% water, so be careful when selecting water.
  • Shorter brew times need a finer grind; long brew times require a coarse grind.
  • Consider a coarser grind for making strong coffee and a finer grind for light coffee.
  • Consistency is critical to get a smooth flavor. Philz recommends using a burr grinder.
  • 200°F is the recommended temperature to make coffee. You can check this with a thermometer. Let the water boil and sit for seconds if you don’t have a thermometer to check the temperature.
